Pats gain ground in playoff race with 5-2 win in Lethbridge

The Regina Pats road trip through Alberta got off to a successful start in Lethbridge with a 5-2 win over the Hurricanes.

Dru Mushumanski (2G-1A), Braxton Whitehead (3A) and Carson Haynes (2G) all enjoyed multi-point nights to lead the Pats offensively.

Captain Tanner Howe also scored his team leading 18th goal of the season.

Kelton Pyne made 34 saves to collect his seventh win of the year.

Pats Assistant Coach Evan McFeeters was pleased with the collective effort in the win.

“t was a great team win for us. From our goaltender, to our defence and to our forwards. We got some contributions from throughout our lineup and some timely goal scoring.”

Brayden Edwards (1G-1A) and Noah Chadwick scored for the Hurricanes.

Regina is now four points back of Lethbridge for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Pats will return to action on Saturday against the Red Deer Rebels.
