MS Musical Christmas Card brings in record amount (Audio)

For the past 35 years CKRM has been proud to bring listeners the Musical Christmas Card for the MS Society of Saskatchewan. The program was started by broadcasting legends Willy Cole and Lorne Harasen, among many others behind the scenes.

The concept of the program is simple. Listeners call in to request a song and make a donation of any size to the MS Society for the programs and services they provide to assist those dealing with MS. This year, a massive donation of $25,000 by Freda Levesque was made to the program in honour of her daughter Lillian who battled this dreadful disease.

Thanks to the generosity of Saskatchewanians and 620 CKRM listeners over the past three Sundays of December, the MS Musical Christmas Card raised over $43,000! Peter Kampe of the MS Society in Saskatchewan was overjoyed by record setting fundraiser.
