A 23-year-old female inmate on remand was found unresponsive at Pine Grove Correctional Centre and declared deceased at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert on Wednesday.

Corrections staff initiated life-saving measures, and EMS transported her to the hospital.

The Prince Albert Police Service, Saskatchewan Coroners Service, and the Ministry of Corrections are investigating, with no foul play suspected.
