In 2023, Alford played in all 18 games, returning 88 punts for 978 yards. He tied a franchise record for three punt touchdowns previously set by Willis Jacox (1991), Curtis Mayfield (1999) and Corey Holmes (2005).

The 5’9 182 lb returner was also named a Western All-Star last year.

Alford joined the Roughriders via trade with Montreal during the 2022 season. He would go on to win the Most Outstanding Player of the Year award. The former West Virginia Mountaineer became the first player in team history to complete the “Trifecta,” returning a punt, a kickoff and a missed field goal back for touchdowns.

Also in 2022, Alford broke the record for most return touchdowns by an individual (4).

Prior to joining the Roughriders, Alford spent time with the Montreal Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts.
