Vehicle stolen from in front of Regina General Hospital

A 42-year-old man is facing charges after stealing a vehicle from the front entrance of the Regina General Hospital.

The incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. when the victims were assisting a family member into the passenger seat. The suspect approached the running vehicle, entered, and drove off, hitting a parked vehicle and a construction fence before exiting the hospital parking lot. Although no physical injuries were reported, the stolen vehicle was found heavily damaged approximately 15 minutes later near 14th Avenue and Osler Street.

Subsequently, an area search led to the suspect’s discovery around 9:45 p.m. in a business on Saskatchewan Drive, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

The accused, Angus KAISWATUM, faces charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Stop After an Accident, with his first court appearance scheduled for today.
