A Fine Deal at QB: Roughriders extend Mason Fine for 2 years

American Quarterback Mason Fine and the Saskatchewan Roughriders have agreed to a new contract.

The two sides agreed to a two-year deal on Tuesday.

Fine (5’11-190) made a career-high four starts with the green and white in 2023. The Oklahoma native completed 94 passes for 1,043 yards and three touchdowns in 2023, with highest total coming in Week 8 against Toronto (302).

The quarterback originally joined Saskatchewan’s roster before the 2021 season. Over the last three seasons, has 1,797 yards through the air and six touchdowns.

During his time at North Texas, Fine finished his collegiate career 28th all-time in passing yards in college football history and established several records with the Big Green. He was his school’s all-time leader in passing yards (12,505), passing touchdowns (93), passer efficiency (140.68), overall touchdowns (100), completions (1,039), pass attempts (1,655) and 300-yard passing games (18).
