Prior to joining the Elks, McLaurin spent time with the New York Giants after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

The 26-year-old played collegiately at Mississippi State State (2015-18). In his junior season, he was named the TaxSlayer Bowl MVP and to the Associated Press All-Bowl Team. He led the SEC and was fourth nationally in interceptions (6).
