Police charge woman with attempted murder after house fire investigation

Regina police have charged 27-year-old Danica Rayne Asapace with Attempted Murder following an investigation into a house fire earlier this month.

On January 2, fire crews responded to a blaze in the 900 block of Rae Street, swiftly extinguishing it with no occupants found.

Hours later, police attended an assault report in the 800 block of Rae Street, discovering the victim had been assaulted and the suspect, Asapace, set fire to the house before fleeing.

The victim managed to escape unharmed. Asapace appeared in Regina Provincial Court last Friday for the attempted murder charge.
