Pats will try and solve their road woes in Lethbridge

For the first time since the middle of December, the Regina Pats will begin overnight road trip on Friday in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes.

The Pats will continue their Alberta trek on Sunday when they visit the Hitmen in Calgary.

Beginning the weekend, the Hitmen are one of the team’s that stand in between the Pats and a playoff spot. Calgary is tied with Prince Albert for the 8th position in the Eastern Conference, holding a four-point advantage over the Pats.

Regina has been off since Saturday, when they overcame a 2-0 deficit and defeated the Medicine Hat Tigers 5-4 in overtime. Zane Rowan scored the game-winning-goal for the Pats. Braxton Whitehead(1G-1A), Logan Peskett(1G-1A), and Tye Spencer(1G-1A) each had multi-point nights in the win. Ewan Huet had 40 saves.

Over the last six road games, the Pats have points in four of those matchups (1-2-2-1). During the 2023-24 season, Regina is 3-13-2-1 away from the Brandt Centre. The last time the Regiment claimed a road victory was December 15, in Lethbridge.

The Hurricanes suffered a 6-0 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings last Saturday, marking an end to a four-game road trip. The Hurricanes only victory was last Friday when they beat the Pats at the Brandt Centre.

Tonight will mark the final time this season the Pats will square off with the Hurricanes. In the previous three encounters, Regina has a pair of wins.
