16-year-old charged with second-degree murder

A 16-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder related to a homicide that occurred late last year.

On December 21, 2023, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Retallack Street for a report of an injured man. When they arrived, they located the injured victim outside a residence. EMS took the man to the hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.

An investigation following the death led to the arrest of a 16-year-old, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. 

The youth made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Friday.
