Pats end road skid with OT win in Calgary

The Regina Pats picked up a much needed win on the road on Sunday, defeating the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 in overtime.

Tye Spencer scored the winning goal for the Pats, capping off a three-point game (2G-1A).

Ewan Huet earned the win making 49 saves, a career high.

Sam Oremba chipped in with a pair of goals.

Captain Tanner Howe had three assists, while Braxton Whitehead and Ty Gibson each had a pair of helpers.

Regina is five points back of the Hitmen of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The win in Calgary, snapped a six-game losing streak away from the Brandt Centre for the Pats, their first road win since December 15.

Regina will finish out the month of January on Wednesday, when they visit the Saskatoon Blades for the final time this season.
