Top target WR Shawn Bane Jr. back in Saskatchewan with two-year extension

The Saskatchewan Roughriders hauled in a big signing as they agreed to terms with American wide receiver Shawn Bane Jr. on a two-year contract extension.

Bane Jr. (5’9-178) experienced a career season in Saskatchewan in 2023, leading the Canadian Football League in receptions, which ranks 8th in franchise history. He also eclipsed the 1,000 receiving yard and had four 100+ yard receiving games last season.

Before joining the Roughriders, he spent three seasons in Calgary with the Stampeders recording 24 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned 25 punts for 262 yards and 14 kickoffs for 294 yards.

Bane Jr. signed with the Atlanta Falcons following the 2019 NFL Draft as undrafted free agent and spent training camp with the team.
