Regina police and the coroner’s service are involved in a sudden death investigation stemming from an industrial accident at a business located on the 400 block of MacDonald Street. The incident unfolded Friday morning , February 2nd with initial reports on social media of a “slab” of marble falling off a truck early this morning. The incident closed the street to traffic for a few hours as the investigation unfolded.

Upon arrival, officials discovered two adults with injuries, tragically confirming the death of one of them. Emergency Medical Services cared for the surviving injured party, providing immediate medical attention before transporting them to the hospital

Police say – as with any death investigation – the primary focus is on identification of the dead, and the notification of the family. Police are collecting information on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. In this instance, law enforcement is working with Occupational Health and Safety looking at the incident as a workplace fatality.
