No charges laid after bus driver suffers medical emergency behind the wheel

Police announced that no charges would be laid following a collision between a city bus and a light pole.

Responding to the incident on Wascana Parkway and Kramer Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, officers found the bus at an angle on the road, dragging a traffic light for approximately 150 yards.

Eight of the approximately two dozen passengers sustained minor injuries, with five taken to the hospital as a precaution. The driver, facing a medical emergency, was also hospitalized.

Subsequent investigation revealed the collision resulted from the driver’s medical distress, leading officials to determine that no charges or tickets would be issued.
