Pats annual Indigenous Celebration Night set for Saturday against the Oil Kings

The Regina Pats will hold their annual Indigenous Celebration Night in support of the Orange Jersey Project when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday night.

During the game, the Pats will be wearing special-edition orange jerseys. The jerseys will be available to purchase via an online auction, with the proceeds donated to the Orange Jersey Project.

Before Saturday’s game gets underway, Chief Bitternosse of George Gordon First Nation along with George Gordon Developments executives will be in honoured in a pre-game ceremony, , as well as three First Nation Flag Bearers and a seventh skater.

Clarence Iron will join Pats play-by-play voice Dante De Caria on the broadcast on 620 CKRM, providing colour commentary and analysis in Cree.

Irvin Montana will join public address announcer Darren Szabo announcing in Cree inside of the arena throughout the game.

There will also be intermission drum, dance and singing performance by George Gordon First Nation.
