Reports: Roughriders to sign free agent OL Jermarcus Hardrick

It appears that the Saskatchewan Roughriders will address their offensive line concerns in free agency.

According to multiple reports, the Roughriders have agreed to a two-year deal with American offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick.

The 34-year-old started in 18 regular season games with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, along with the Western Final and the 2023 Grey Cup. Hardrick was named the Western Division nominee for the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman last season.

Since joining the Blue Bombers as a free agent in 2016, the former University of Nebraska Cornhusker has been named a Western All-Star in 2017 and a CFL All-Star in 2021 and 2023.

This would mark Hardrick’s second stint in Saskatchewan, he was a member of the green and white during the 2015 season. He also spent time with the BC Lions.

With the CFL free agent negotiation period opening up on Sunday, teams and players can agree to contracts that can’t become official next week.

The negotiation period ends on Sunday. Free agency in the CFL officially begins on Tuesday, February 13.
