SIGA Betting on Sustainability

Saskatchewan casino’s are putting their bets on green. Green energy.

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has announced the installation of Level 3 (fast charging) and Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at three of its casinos: Northern Lights Casino, Gold Eagle Casino, and Painted Hand Casino.

With Phase 1 funding approved by SaskPower and Natural Resources Canada, these charging stations offer a green solution for EV owners.

“It is important to us to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner and build that into our operational plans going forward, staying true to SIGA’s guiding principle of Witaskêwin, which means living together on the land,” said Director of SIGA Operations Daniel Morin in a release.

The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program has provided financial support, allowing SIGA to contribute to a cleaner environment while accommodating the growing number of EVs in the province.
