A 31-year-old man is now facing charges after a fire was set at a historic church in Regina more than a week ago.

Firefighters were called out to the Blessed Sacrament Parish for a fire at the rear of the 100-year-old church.

After the fire, a doorbell cam video was released, showing someone pouring out the contents of a jerry can. After several attempts to light a fire, the person on the video was seen running away.

Thirty-one-year-old Jordan Willett is charged with arson with disregard for human life and disguise with intent, as well as two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He’ll appear in Regina provincial court on the charges on Tuesday.
