Riders add LT Jonathan Hubbard

The signings continue for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Green and White have added American offensive lineman Jonathan Hubbard.

Hubbard initially signed with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and spent the season on the practice roster.

He later signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021 and stayed with the team until August 2022.

The Northwestern State product spent five seasons at left tackle for the Demons’ offensive line. With Hubbard in the lineup, that offensive line allowed a sack just 3.9 percent of passing plays (517).

This would be Hubbard’s first CFL team.

The Riders also signed American defensive back Marcus Murphy to a contract on Tuesday.

Murphy has spent time with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and the XFL’s Orlando Guardians.
