Pats off to 0-2 US Road Trip after 5-3 loss to Tri-City

The Regina Pats faced a setback on their U.S. road trip, losing 5-3 to the Tri-City Americans.

The Pats saw contributions from various players throughout the game, with nine players making it onto the scoresheet.

Tye Spencer, Brayden Barnett, and Sam Oremba each scored a goal, with one goal scored in each period. Spencer extended his scoring streak to three games, Barnett marked his 100th career game with a goal, and Oremba reached a milestone of 20 goals for the season.

Despite the efforts, the Pats couldn’t secure the win, with Kelton Pyne making 28 saves in the loss. 

However, their power play continued its strong performance, scoring for the eighth consecutive game with a 1-4 record. Additionally, the penalty kill was flawless, going 3-3.

For the Americans, Carter MacAdams, Brandon Whynott, and Jake Sloan each had multi-point games, contributing to their victory. 

Andrew Fan and Parker Bell also added goals, while Lukas Matecha made 30 saves, helping the Americans end their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, the Pats will aim to bounce back in their next game on Tuesday night as they face the Seattle Thunderbirds in Kent, Washington, with a puck drop scheduled for 9:05 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
