Second Season of Guardians of the North set to debut this week

The second season of the docuseries Guardians of the North is set to hit television screens this week.

The docuseries showcases the efforts of wildland firefighters and First Nation responders in Indigenous and Northern communities.

The second season comprises six episodes and continues to document personnel from the SPSA and the Saskatchewan First Nations Emergency Management as they tackle wildfires and evacuations during the summer of 2023, one of Saskatchewan’s most significant wildfire seasons.

“2023 saw unprecedented wildfire activity across Canada. It has been remarkable telling the stories of those dedicated, brave individuals tasked with protecting human life, communities and resources throughout Saskatchewan’s north,” Wavelength Entertainment Producer Chris Triffo said.

The second series is set to debut on March 5 at 10 p.m. on CityTV Saskatchewan.

Guardians of the North receives funding from Creative Saskatchewan’s Feature Film and TV Production grant. The second season’s $280,000 investment is estimated to result in $1.2 million in positive economic impacts for the province.
