Melfort man charged with second-degree murder

A 35-year-old from Melfort has been charged with second-degree murder after a report of a disturbance at a business in the community earlier this week.

On March 10, at 4:45 a.m., Melfort RCMP received a report of a disturbance at a business. Officers immediately responded, and an investigation determined that an altercation had occurred between an adult male and an adult female.

The female was injured and was later declared deceased by EMS at the scene and has been identified as a 30-year-old from Prince Albert.

The 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder.

He appeared in Melfort Provincial Court earlier this week.
