Regina Police investigating after suspicious package proves to be hoax

The Regina Police Service asks the public for help after a fake suspension.

At 9:40 a.m. Friday, officers were called to a business in the 3800 block of Albert Street for a report of a suspicious package.

The caller said that the package had a note on it threatening harm if it were to be touched.

When officers arrived, they located the package and the Explosives Disposal Unit was called in to assist. The unit assessed the package, determined it was a hoax, and disposed of it.

Police have launched an investigation and are asking the public to contact the Regina Police Service at 1-306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they have any information to help police in their investigation.
