This Saskatchewan fundraiser is giving away an airplane

For the past 29 years Assiniboia has been hosting a fundraising lottery in support of various projects in their community. The past several years the lotto has supported the construction of the new Southland Co-op Centre in Assiniboia, which is utilized by kids and families all over southern Saskatchewan. The Southland Co-op Centre is also home to the Richardson Pioneer Southern Rebels Jr. B hockey team of the Prairie Junior Hockey League.

The lottery is a vital part of this town’s future plans and has built up an impressive list of prizes over the years, including an airplane. The plane is courtesy of Prairie Aircraft Sales Ltd. of Calgary and so far nobody has selected the plane…yet. Maybe this will be the year. Not everyday you see a small town Saskatchewan fundraiser giving participants the opportunity to win an airplane! There are other grand prizes options including tractor and farm packages, a truck and SUV package, or $150,000 in cash. The grand prize draws will happen on May 26th at Nelson GM in Assiniboia.

The early bird prize will be awarded on April 28th for a three day fishing trip at Twin Falls Lodge on the Churchill River. Nothing but clear water, fresh air, beautiful wilderness, and lots of fish for three whole days. Sounds like the best way to spend a summer weekend in our great province.
