One dead after early morning fire in Regina

A fire in the 2500 block of Elliott Street has led to the Regina Fire and Saskatchewan Coroners Service launching an investigation after a body was recovered.

Fire crews responded to the fire at around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, where they discovered a body as they searched the home.

“Firefighters witnessed heavy smoke and fire conditions on the home’s main floor,” Regina Fire said in a post to X.

An investigation by both Regina Fire and the Coroners Service is currently underway.
