As April arrives, many Saskatchewan residents await the the opening of online reservations for Provincial Parks, marking the start of another beautiful Saskatchewan camping season. Reservations this year open on the 1st of April, popularly known as “April Fool’s Day -but rest assured, this isn’t a prank; it’s an opportunity for many to secure their ideal camping spots for the upcoming season.

The booking process, which commences at 7 a.m. on April 1st, offers a range of options, including seasonal campsites, nightly stays, group campsites, and swimming lessons. To streamline the process, campers are encouraged to set up or log into their SaskParks.com accounts before reservations go live.

This camping season will see an array of activities for nature lovers -from Canada Day celebrations to Summer Cinema and cultural festivals like Back in the Boreal at Meadow Lake, there’s something for everyone to enjoy among the natural beauty of Saskatchewan’s parks.

“We are thrilled to see the growing interest in our parks, reflected in the addition of new campsites across locations,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Laura Ross said. “These expansions are a testament to the allure of our natural landscapes. With exciting events on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to explore our parks and discover the beauty and adventure they have to offer.” 

New additions include 28 seasonal sites and innovative upgrades such as yurts replacing Camp Easy tents at Cypress Hills. These enhancements aim to provide visitors with enhanced comfort and unforgettable experiences in the great outdoors.
