Alberta company fined $85,000 for incident that left worker seriously injured

An Alberta company has been fined $85,000 for an incident that led to a worker being seriously injured in Saskatchewan.

Porcupine Corral Cleaning pleaded guilty to one violation of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations in Maple Creek Provincial Court.

As a result, the Court imposed a fine of $60,714.29 with a surcharge of $24,285.71, for a total amount of $85,000.

The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on September 29, 2021, near Maple Creek, where a worker was seriously injured while conducting repairs under a truck.
