La Ronge RCMP responded to a report of an injured female on Far Reserve Road on Sunday, only to find her deceased at the scene.

Identified as 52-year-old Sharon Brown, victim services have reached out to her family.

Following suspicion surrounding her death, Saskatchewan Major Crimes have taken over the investigation.

33-year-old Brad Ratt faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with the incident. RCMP say he was remanded into custody and will have another court appearance Thursday.
