Update: Suspect involved in Monday’s shooting in Estevan taken into custody

The Estevan Police Service says the suspect involved in an incident Monday night in Estevan has been taken into custody.

Police said the suspect was contained in his residence in the 1700-block of Third Street late Monday night. He was still in his home early Tuesday, but the EPS said he was arrested just after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

In a post on social media, the EPS expressed thanks to assisting police agencies, including the RCMP, Weyburn Police Service and Regina Police Service.

Third Street has been closed from 16th Avenue to 18th Avenue. It is expected to reopen Tuesday morning, but police will remain on scene.
