Pats extend Herauf, Schnieder

The Regina Pats extended two of their coaches for upcoming seasons – head coach Brad Herauf and assistant Ken Schnieder, but they let go of assistant coach Evan McFeeters and goaltending coach Daniel Wapple.

Pats general manager Alan Millar thanked the departing coaches for their contributions.

“Both Evan and Daniel are bright, young guys, and we wish them the best in their future endeavours,” said Millar in a statement.

Pats GM Alan Millar said in a statement he looks forward to working with Herauf and Schnieder to continue to build the Pats into a championship team.

“As we look for our team to take that next step, beginning this fall, the leadership and continuity Brad and Ken bring to our group is very important…” said Millar.

The extensions were announced as multi-year.

Herauf has a record as a head coach and acting head coach of 33-55-7-3 in 98 games. He was named the 43rd head coach in franchise history last summer.

The search for the new assistant coach and goalie coach will begin immediately.
