Tourism Week Highlights all the Province of Saskatchewan has to Offer

Saskatchewan Tourism Week kicks off today and runs till the 19th. The tourism sector brings 2.4 billion dollars in annual travel spending and employs roughly 71,000 people.

Minister Jeremy Harrison, responsible for tourism in the province – “This week draws attention to the value of our province’s tourism sector, and its impact on the local economy through continued entrepreneurial opportunities. Visitors and residents alike benefit from an industry that provides enticing travel discoveries and showcases Saskatchewan’s natural beauty and warm hospitality.”

The sentiment is echoed by Tourism Saskatchewan CEO Jonathan Potts, “Saskatchewan Tourism Week highlights the wide variety of businesses, experiences, and attractions that make our province an appealing place to visit,” he notes, praising the dedication of tourism operators and their commitment to delivering exceptional service.

As the province gears up for a busy summer season, there is excitement among industry players. With travel steadily increasing, operators are preparing to welcome visitors with open arms. To showcase Saskatchewan tourism- Tourism Saskatchewan will release a series of videos on Facebook throughout the week. These stories will offer a glimpse into the province’s unique attractions and events, showing travelers everything the province has to offer.

As the week unfolds, residents of the province are being encouraged to explore the province and discover something new in their own backyard – whether it’s embarking on a road trip, trying new activities, trying new flavors from around the province or by having a unique and authentic Saskatchewan experience.
