Two charged with drug trafficking and weapons offences

Two people have been charged with drug trafficking and firearms after a search warrant on Tuesday.

The Regina Police Service executed a search warrant on Tuesday on a resident on the 1100 block of Express Street, where they found methamphetamine, Canadian currency, a rifle, firearm parts and a replica firearm.

As a result, a 25-year-old and a 19-year-old were charged with possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of a firearm, knowing its possession was unauthorized.

The 25-year-old was additionally charged with two counts of possession of firearm and ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a

scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and breach of a conditional sentence order.

Both are scheduled to make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Wednesday.
