Staycations are the best

It feels great to back from an extended Victoria Day long weekend and sometimes all a person needs is a good staycation. Turn the phone off, sweep off the deck, and hang out in the backyard with a coffee and the birds. I did not go anywhere on my days off except to the greenhouses and my yard and it was fabulous! There are a lot of benefits to staycations such as minimal travel costs, no airport delays or cancellations, no leg cramps on airlines, and you don’t need to buy tickets to enjoy your backyard (at least I hope not, anyway). Staycations are also a great reminder that we have a lot of beautiful parks and attractions right here in Saskatchewan to visit.

Here are the top 10 things I did on my days off:

10. Took a nap

9. Got up

8. Watched TV

7. Fell asleep watching tv

6. Went to a greenhouse

5. Took a nap after the greenhouse

4. Ate all the food in the bird feeder

3. Tried eating peanuts on my deck and got into a fight with a squirrel

2. apologized to the squirrel

1.Took a bath in the bird bath. I smell like a meadowlark now.

Overall it was a great rest in time for a wildly busy summer 2024 coming up. Events like Regina Red Sox baseball, Pilot Butte Rodeo/Cabaret, Dauphin’s Countryfest, Country Thunder Sask, Ag in Motion, and the North Dakota State Fair are all on the agenda over the next 3 months. I hope to see you out there!
