Regina Police Crack Down on Drug Trafficking Ring

In a major operation, the Regina Drug Unit (RDU) and the Regina Police Service Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team arrested three suspects and seized a significant quantity of illegal drugs last Thursday.

The drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, were found in two locations in Regina and have an estimated street value of over one million dollars.

The suspects, aged 19 to 23, were arrested in the early afternoon and are jointly charged with various drug-related offenses. The charges include possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and other related offenses.

The seizure is significant not only due to the quantity of drugs involved but also because of the dangerous nature of fentanyl. The drug is highly potent and can be lethal in small quantities. The Regina Police Service is urging the public to be aware of the dangers of fentanyl and to seek help if they are struggling with addiction.

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are possible. The accused are set to make their first appearance in Provincial Court last Friday.
