Who knew that globally, such events as the Carlyle, Saskatchewan “Dickens Village Festival” were at thing. Carlyle’s event is ranked 5th in the world. That’s amazing and something to be proud of. Dawn Faber gave us a preview of what’s happening and if you check out the Dickens Village Festival Facebook page you’ll find a very cool contest with very nice prize packages. SO HURRY!!

The weekend includes everything you could imagine in a Dickens Village; entertainment, dancing, markets and parades, the list of events is endless. There is a combination of ticketed and by donation events, but generally just roam freely. That is unless you plan on doing your Christmas Shopping. Merchants from all around Carlyle will be there. Might I add, that Carlyle has a population of just over 1,500 people. For two days the community is bustling just like you would find in the Victorian Era. Think top hats and waste coats, dresses with bustles and fur handwarmers, horse draw carriages and dimly lit street lights. Music of the Victorian Era and the rush of children through the streets.
