Kettle Campaign Needs You (Audio)

The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign is in full swing across Canada. Good Morning Saskatchewan had a chance to chat with Major Al Hoeft about what is happening with the Regina kettles.

Clubs, businesses and other organizations are signing up to take on shifts for the Salvation Army as they work to provide hampers for those in need. The Kettles can be seen at Superstore locations, Costco, Cabela’s, Walmart, Safeway, Canadian Tire plus Regina malls and other locations. A two hour shift can go by easily, so it is understandable if people sign up for double shifts or create a work team building environment. The gift of volunteering leaves a person feeling fulfilled and is not just for those in retirement!

Over 1500 families and 3500 children will benefit from the Salvation Army Kettle funds. Through the year the Salvation Army operates shelters, food security, for individuals and families. While there is a postal disruption, regular donors might struggle with how to give to their favourite Christmas charity. Perhaps, dropping a cheque in the Salvation Army Kettle is what you want to do, receipts will be sent out to you. Tap is also more available now when organizations are doing fundraising drives.
