As of today, December 17th, there are only eight days left until Christmas and people across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba have done a great job with Christmas decorations.
In Saskatoon, the BHP Enchanted Forest is back for a 26th year featuring thousands of festive lights at the Forestry Farm Park. The event is a partnership between the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation and the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation. Visitors can either drive throughout the displays while listening to Christmas music or they can walk through this winter wonderland. The event runs from now until January 5th, 2025 between 5:30p.m. to 11 p.m..
The Yorkton Lions have launched their first ever Wonders of Winter in partnership with Legacy Co-op at the Yorkton City Campground. The event goes until January 1st, 2025 between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. and features thousands of Christmas lights. Visitors can stay in their vehicle as they tour through the campground and see thousands of lights in trees and on various displays. Admission is at the gate and advance passes can be purchased at various Legacy Co-op locations.
Brandon, Manitoba has also done a great job lighting up their skating oval. Visitors to the area and lace up their skates and tour around several light displays while enjoying ambient Christmas music. Warm up shacks, washrooms, and lighting also make the experience even more special. Those who want to see see the display and go for skate can park near the oval just off of McGregor Ave or Hilton Ave in Brandon. The lights will be on until 11 p.m. throughout the festive season.
Closer to Regina, Ian’s Christmas Lights south of McLean are worth checking out over the Christmas holidays. The event is a fundraiser for the mental health unit at the Regina General Hospital.
