The GOAT of stress relief

The problems of today’s world can weigh heavily on an individual’s mind as we navigate through tariff and annexation talk in Canada. Of course, it’s not just Canadians that are dealing with stressful and frightening issues, the world as a whole, is going through uncertain times. One man’s approach to dealing with stress will really get your goat.

After walking his friend’s dog, Thomas Thwaites of the United Kingdom decided he wanted to live life as an animal and take a break from living as a human. He left his home in London and temporarily moved to Switzerland to live with a number of goats on the hills and mountains. Originally he said he wanted to live life as a dog, but felt he’d enjoy a vegetarian diet more than meat.

He took the project to the next level, however, by using prosthetic limbs to mimic other goats and he even created a contraption to allow him to eat grass just like other goats. The man was successful in securing a grant from a university to study the psychology of these animals and what he learned was surprising to him.

In an interview with the Daily Mail in the U.K., he said a lot of people called him crazy but he felt fed up with his life and he needed a break.

The man says goats are better than people and they live in the moment better than humans do even though the animals didn’t give him a warm reception. In an interview with the Daily Mail he said he felt as if they were going to attack him.

Regardless, he says he appreciated his time as a goat.
