The Regina Folk Festival is officially coming to an end.
The festival’s Board of Directors has announced the cancellation of its 53rd edition, citing financial struggles and reduced operational capacity.
Organizers say ongoing challenges, including rising costs, reduced funding, and lower ticket sales, made it impossible to continue. Refunds are being processed for ticket buyers.
The festival had hoped to return in 2025 with a new format but could not overcome financial obstacles. Artistic Director Amber Goodwyn will also be leaving her role.
The board is now working to dissolve the organization and will hold a special meeting this spring to decide its final steps.
