SASKATOON – Update, Oct. 14, 3:50 p.m.: Following an investigation by Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) patrol officers, a suspect was identified in an aggravated assault investigation from May 2025.
In September, follow-up by the SPS Warrant Enforcement Unit effected the arrest of a 35-year-old man. He is charged with aggravated assault and breaching court-imposed conditions.
Original post, May 23, 12:10 p.m.: Police are investigating after a man was assaulted yesterday morning in Saskatoon.
At around 8:45 a.m. on May 22, police were called to the 100 block of Avenue P North for a report of an injured person.
Upon arrival, officers located the male victim suffering from various injuries; it was learned that an unknown man approached him, pulled him to the ground, bit him, and struck him several times with a hammer.
The suspect then fled the area.
Members of the Serious Assault Unit and Patrol are continuing to investigate.
