Never one to pass up an invitation to try something new, a few of us from Harvard Media ventured over to Albert Street and 13th Avenue last week to help break in the staff at the newly opened Pumpjacks Cathedral Saloon and Steakhouse. If you haven’t worked in a restaurant environment before, you might not realize that a new server can be a bit nervous. So I’m hoping we put our server at ease. We aren’t the toughest customers! Most of our crew had the tasty burgers and personally, I tried one of the bowls with crispy wonton and crunchy chicken tenders with a Thai sauce over a chow mein noodle base. I think a bit of veg in that mixture would have been extra yummy.
I can’t really recall the interior of the former Cathedral Social House, so structurally there might not be much change other than it has been buffed and polished including an area for bands and then what everyone looks for during our summers, a great PATIO! And just wait til the stage is filled with the Regina music scene.
At Pumpjacks everyone is welcome at all times. The menu offers good choices for the whole family. Yes, family because you can bring your kids into the establishment daily until 8pm. We all like to try out the new dining experiences in Regina, so I encourage you to try Pumpjacks located at 2062 Albert Street, open 11 a.m. each day of the week, closing at midnight Sunday to Tuesday and remaining open until 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Parking is available at the back of the business.
Congratulations to the owners and welcome to Regina! We wish you much success and hope to see you again soon.
