REGINA–The Saskatchewan Roughriders Pre-Season game with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers is being delayed, because of the poor air quality caused by smoke.
The game was supposed to kick off at 7:00pm, and now kick off is set for 8:00pm
The smoke is from numerous wildfires burning in Saskatchewan.

The Roughriders have air quality monitors in the stadium to keep track of the air quality to protect the athletes and fans.
” If the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI+) reaches 8 or above (as per official metrics provided by Environment Canada at https://aqmap.ca) during warmups or the game, the onsite League Representative will enact the league’s air quality procedure, which includes automatically stopping the game and sending teams to their dressing rooms.”
Regina has received a significant amount of smoke throughout Friday from major wildfires that have impacted northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Officials with the SPSA expect air quality to get worse tomorrow.
