BATTLEFORDS – Battlefords RCMP seized 30 grams of suspected fentanyl and drug-trafficking paraphernalia in a recent drug bust.
On May 30 at approximately 12:10 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a disturbance on 100 Street in North Battleford.
Officers responded and located an adult male. He provided a name to police. When officers checked police databases, they determined the name the individual provided was wanted on warrants. The man was then arrested.
Officers located and seized approximately 30 grams of a substance, believed to be fentanyl, and drug-trafficking paraphernalia on the man. The substance has been sent to Health Canada for further testing.
As a result of the further investigation, officers determined the man provided a false name, but were able to determine his true identity.
A 30-year-old man, from Saskatoon, is charged with:
- one count, resist/obstruct peace officer; and
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He appeared in North Battleford provincial court on June 2.
Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate.
