WEYBURN – A 45-year-old Weyburn accused of child luring had an appearance scheduled in Weyburn Provincial Court on June 24 and the matter was adjourned to July 22 to be spoken to.
The charges stem from an investigation launched by Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit in February 2024. Following an online investigation into alleged child luring, ICE investigators executed a search warrant at the accused’s Weyburn home on July 17, 2024, seizing multiple electronic devices as part of the investigation.
Nearly a year later, on May 9, 2025, police charged him with four counts of child luring.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is made up of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the internet.
