The University of Regina has announced their list of honourees for their annual Alumni Awards and Sports Hall of Fame banquet this fall.
The alumni awards is the university’s way of celebrating the achievements of past students through community engagement, leadership, excellence, and their impact on the social, cultural, and economic well being of Saskatchewan.
The alumni awards were established in 1992 and three years later the University of Regina Sports Hall of Fame was established to honour past students who’ve made a major impact on the local, national, and international sports scene, in addition to those who have made significant contributions to the athletics program. Past inductees have included coaches, athletes, community advocates, and entrepreneurs.
This is year’s alumni award recipients include:
Lifetime Achievement Award: Ralph Goodale
Distinguished Professional Achievement Award: Merelda Fiddler-Potter
Distinguished Humanitarian and Community Service Award: Lisa McIntyre
Dr. Robert and Norma Ferguson Outstanding Service Award: Richard Kies
Outstanding Young Alumni Award: Amy Richter
Innovation Award: Neale Partington
U of R Sports Hall of Fame inductees:
Former Seattle Seahawks kicker Jon Ryan
Former wresting athlete and current coach Ali Bernard.
The annual Alumni Awards and Sports Hall of Fame honourees and inductees will be celebrated at a special banquet at the Conexus Arts Centre on Friday, October 24th starting at 5pm. CLICK HERE for ticket details.
