An already dry southwest Saskatchewan will be faced with a more heat this week. A heat warning has been issued by Environment Canada for the Swift Current, Val Marie, Shaunavon, Maple Creek, and Leader areas.
Humidex values are expected to exceed 32C until at least Wednesday afternoon. Weather experts remind those who are working outside to be mindful of heat exhaustion symptoms such has dizziness, thirst, headaches, and fatigue. Experts say to stay hydrated and to seek cool areas periodically. People are also reminded to never leave kids and pets inside a parked car during extremely hot temperatures.
Environment is forecasting temperatures of 30 or higher on Tuesday and Wednesday before a cool front moves in on Thursday bringing relief in time for the weekend.
According to the July forecast from the Weather Network, Saskatchewanians can expect well above normal heat this month and most areas will see a dry pattern, depending on storm severity.
