The first week and weekend of July was a memorable one for CKRM Chuckwagon racer Tanner Hawreluik as he tackled a packed schedule with the EPCCA, racing first at the Yorkton Exhibition Summer Fair and then heading home to compete at the Sheho Sports Days. Both events brought new challenges, exciting milestones, and plenty to celebrate.

Yorkton marked a significant “first” for Tanner as he took on the thrilling challenge of racing three across.
This format demands more strategy, sharper reflexes, and even greater awareness, as there’s less space to maneuver and more competitors side-by-side. Tanner’s efforts in Yorkton and Sheho paid off handsomely, as he earned two different awards over the weekend—a testament to his determination and progress
Perhaps even more impressive was Tanner’s ability to remain penalty-free throughout the entire weekend. Actually, all three heats in Yorkton for Tanner and his competitors were penalty free. And don’t quote me on this, but I believe, after Thursday night races, they were the only heat to have achieved that. In a sport where penalties can easily derail a strong performance, completing a weekend without any is a great accomplishment.
The excitement continued as Tanner returned to Sheho to race in front of family, friends, and the whole community during the Sheho Sports Days, Mud Fling & Ranch Rodeo. Racing at home brought a special energy and stories.
From first-time experiences and award-winning performances to the pride of racing at home, the brand new CKRM Chuckwagon is on fire!
