Regina’s annual summer fair, the Queen City Ex, officially starts on Wednesday at noon and organizers say it won’t disappoint this year.
“We’ve got an all new midway coming,” stated Cat Betker, QCX Events Manager. “We’ve got West Coat Amusements Coming (and) they are a fourth generation Canadian Family. They are the largest midway in Western Canada. They are bringing over 40 rides to the midway.”
Among the rides this year are three new units fairgoers can go on -“Freak-out,” “Chaos,” and Zero Gravity.”
Visitors will also be able to chow down on the odd and unusual food again this year including Fruity Pebble Corndogs, dill pickle mini-donuts, spicy dill pickle cotton candy, and Dubai chocolate strawberries, among others.
The midway and concession trailers open at noon each day and run late into the evening until Sunday. General admission into the fair is $19 in advance for adults, $21 at the gate, children are free when accompanied by an adult between the hours of 12pm and 2pm, and those under age 3 are free. A ride-all-day pass sells for $58 at the gate.
