ESTEVAN — A southeast Saskatchewan man will be sentenced Aug. 11 after guilty pleas on several charges.
Timothy William Irwin's lawyer Jonathan Goby entered the pleas July 28 in Estevan Provincial Court. Irwin appeared via CCTV, as he has been incarcerated since his most recent arrest in late June. The charges stem from 2024 and 2025.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and two counts of violating the terms of his court-ordered conditions under the Criminal Code.
Other charges were stayed, including two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of violating release conditions, and one count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm under the Criminal Code.
Irwin's sentence is expected to be a joint submission between Crown prosecutors and his attorney.
He was released from custody on several conditions, including paying a $2,000 cash deposit and promising to report to the Carlyle RCMP by 6 p.m. on Aug. 10.
