August can be bittersweet for many people as the month signals a wind down of sorts as days begin to get shorter and the prospect of harvest looms and kids start heading back to school. July was originally forecast to be quite hot, however temperatures remained moderate overall and that trend is supposed to continue into August.
According to the Weather Network, the start of August will be see warmer than normal temperatures from British Columbia to northwestern Ontario but temperatures are expected to be near normal for the last half of the month. Meteorologists are predicting sporadic rain for Saskatchewan and Manitoba this month, which is widely needed as wildfires continue to ravage northern regions of the provinces.
The Weather Network is also predicting occasional dew and increased fog patches in the morning later in August for folks in the extreme southeast corner of Saskatchewan and into Manitoba. Residents can expect temperatures to be very back and forth this month resulting in average values for this time of year. The normal high for this time of year is around 26C while the low is usually around 11C.
